Lutheran Ethics

At the Intersections of God's One World

Karen L. Bloomquist, Editor

The intent of this book is to shed light on how different cultural perspectives intersect and affect how ethical concerns are viewed and evaluated, even within the "grammar" of one confessional tradition. The significant ethical differences in the world today grow out of cultural contexts, related history, politics, and world views. These essays expand contextually limited views on topics such as sexuality, human rights, democratization, technology and property. This book is an attempt to discern how discussions of ethics questions might take place in a global communion of churches which claim to share the same basic faith convictions as well as a sense of relatedness to one another.
