Surveys indicate that graduates of Lutheran colleges and universities are more engaged by their faculties and are more likely to have leadership positions outside of the classroom than students attending flagship public universities.
Lutheran University Press books extend the skills and knowledge of the faculty of these institutions to the larger Lutheran community and beyond.
Lutheran colleges and universities are exceptional “value-based communities of learning.” Lutheran University Press as a publishing venue encourages research and scholarship, thus enhancing the academic riches of the campuses. Publication of significant works provides a means of getting faculty research and scholarship before academic peers and the church at large.
Monographs, conference proceedings, symposia, textbooks, collections, reference works, bibliographies, festschriften, ethnographies, other works of scholarship, as well as publications to enrich the life of the church are published under the imprint.
Lutheran University Press has connections to Lutherans worldwide and the broader global Christian church. In addition to being a publishing partner of The Lutheran World Federation, authors include Lutheran educators in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Agents in Europe and the Far East seek translators of applicable titles. Seven titles have been translated and published in other languages.
